  11. Very happy to be corrected, but is the lacing correct?. My sources show the 88th as having pointed ended lace, not square ended.

    Hmnnn...interesting one.

I checked my sources and they seem split between square (the majority) and pointed... but in all cases in pairs (No2 from America 1814-15)

Some refs: none of the tunics are the 88th but they show the style and paired laces:

Incidentally: there are two re-enactment groups. The UK/Irish one uses squares and the USA one pointed.

  14. All of my sources say pointed lace:
Mike Chappell. Wellington’s Peninsular regiments (1) Irish.
C E Franklin. British Napoleonic uniforms
Rene Chartrand. A scarlet coat: uniforms, flags and equipment of the British Army in the War of 1812.
Glenn A Steppler. Redcoat: the regimental coat of the British infantryman, c.1808-15, part 3. In Military Illustrated magazine no.22.

    Hi Folks,

I would just like to say a huge thank you for all who purchased the kit and for taking the time for the great comments , its truly appreciated.

To the lace issue,,,,it doesn't matter. It really doesn't.

The kit is titled British Infantryman in Spain. The only thing wrong is my typo of adding 88th Foot. There is nothing on the bust to distinguish it apart from the lace and dont we all love a bit of Napoleonic Lace;):whistle:

Again thanks for all the great comments on the sculpt and to the lace for keeping me at the top of the page,,,not an easy thing to do these days.

Joking aside, keep safe , paint and have fun
