I still have the old western gold miner bust from you, quite fancy doing that for the next. Also got an FER Union soldier, a couple of 1/15 scale Napoleonic plus a French lancer bust. I do quite like the small scale ones.

still to decide on base Wayne. Depends how good he looks when finished if I invest in a wooden base or dark corner of cabinate with kit base :D

Calling this done for the moment. Lots I could and probably should do to it but it would just get messier. The colour scheme is based on a Scottish Man at Arms loosely based on the colours of Edward Bruce.

I do think, in the grand scheme of things, I prefer busts to full figures, I just get lost on them. This is a great figure to work on though and I hope, as Tommi hinted, it does get a re release.

Not sure about a base yet, might just do the kit one and leave it at that, I will decide at some point. All of the figure paints are artists acrylic. Sadly the ones I started off with were not working out very well but as soon as I switched back to my box of Castle Acrylics, it started to come together. Matt coat, still drying in pictures is Daler Rowney acrylic mediums water Soluble Matt varnish. This matts down well and brushes on easy but it also means it will not fight too hard if I decide to strip it and start again at some time.

The face was painted in oils even though I was going to do it in acrylic. I am still wanting to improve on oil face painting but I get frustrated with the drying time as patience is not a virtue I have. My next project then will be a face painting experiment with, I assume, lots of stripping and re painting to see if I can find something I can get reasonable at but more importantly, consistent results.

Thanks Kev. That is what I might do for the base if I don’t decide to strip it down. Castle arts supplies are a budget company selling big boxes of stuff. I think my box of acrylic tubes is 48 colours far more suited to beginners art painting but for me the colours are great for fantasy stuff. Sadly, I don’t do fantasy :ROFLMAO: but I do like the paints.
