This could be my all time favorite WWII buste. Second one I am painting, trying to get the maximum out of it. Face and helmet done I think. Helmet done with the hairspray technique. Helmet signs painted with the hand. All in acrylics. Hope its going the right way.....?:) Greetz John. 8670AF84-3183-4A51-A066-9ACDF0AF63B2.jpeg

The face is looking very good, the eyes make the face and you have achieved the 'tired' look.
    Look forward to seeing more.

Thanks all, i painted the scarf and decided to go for a simple but rather effective pattern. Hope you like it. This week i will start with the winterparka which is a lot of work. Greetz John. 3CE68A76-62A5-47C3-A7B3-C75B39BB940D.jpeg AB727366-5865-443B-AF9F-2003BD3B1725.jpeg

Superb work there, John. Don’t be tempted to change the base colour of the parka again, the early ones as issued for Kharkov in 1943 were a distinctive grey colour called “Mouse Grey” (I’d say Vallejo German Grey is a close match), whereas the later versions of the parka had a full-length fastening at the front & came in a greyish-green shade similar to Field Grey.

Your painting of the scarf looks incredible, must have taken a while to paint all those squares!
    Great work, following with interest.

Nice wood effect on the Kar 98k, John - looks very like the laminated wood stocks seen on late-WW2 Model 98s.
