Hello from the state of Oregon in the U.S., everyone!

I've been lurking around the forum for a while now, so I figured I would finally join.

I got started painting with Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 miniatures, but it didn't take me too long to branch out from there. I don't have a particular subject that I stick to. I jump around between historical, sci-fi, and fantasy miniatures. That said, I do have a real love for historical Roman miniatures. Red and gold are my two favorite colors to paint, and well, you just get to do a lot of that if you paint Romans. I switch scales a lot too, but in general, I prefer 54mm figures.

I've been painting for around three years, and I have to admit, I've hit a long plateau where I feel like I'm not improving as quickly as I was before. I've come here for some new tricks and techniques and to share some of my completed figures.

I also really want to get better at painting with oils. Seeing how many people paint with oils around here was what finally convinced me to join.

It's nice to meet everyone, and I look forward to sharing in this awesome hobby!

I'm sure you'll find plenty of help and inspiration here. I too lurked for a bit before joining and enjoy the banter and really feel that my painting has improved over the last few years as a direct consequence of being here.
