I’m continuing with my deep delving into the depths of my GA box. I seem to have a lot of OOP items.

This time it’s a Le Cimier pairing (54 mm) of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

I’ve had this kit for quite a long time and wasn’t sure I’d ever start it.
However, after winning a Phoenix kit of ‘Napoleon Advancing’ at Bugle Call last year, I decided to make a start and get this one finished before progressing to Napoleon etc. They should make a nice little group on the shelf.

Base coats were Humbrol enamels finished with oils, and printers’ inks for the metal items.
I also used a touch of Daler-Rowney FW Pearlescent white on the frills and trimmings for a shimmer effect. It was also used for the pearls.

    Hope you like them.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

Beautiful work Andrew, on a lovely kit! (y) I look forward to your work on Napoleon Advancing. I have fond memories of painting it back in the late 70's.

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your kind comments.
Funnily enough, the dress colour is the only item where I followed the box art.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

Heads on saves a lot of messy red painting.

Thank you for your kind comment Ken.
I'm currently going through the 'ice cubes on a plate' stage with Napoleon and Lady, that I experienced with the Ribald Dragoon kit back in April 2016.
The 'bumpegs' are back in action.

    Cheers,
