Oils mix for DAK uniforms?

    Hi!

I'm starting a full 1/16 Rommel figure from Tamiya, and one of the painting options is having him on the traditional DAK (desert yellow?) uniform.

Any suggestions on a good oils mix that would result in such a final color?

I've researched the Forum, there are many threads and posts concerning WWII German uniforms colors, but couldn't find none for the DAK one.
The only one I was able to find, there's a link to a video on YT with a guy painting a DAK soldier, but he uses acrylics, not oils :(

    Thanks!

    Cheers!

As the old saying goes "necessity is the mother of invention"...

    This mix works perfectly fine:

    Hi Dolf

I have moved this to general figure you might get more mixes

Of course the conditions where the uniforms were worn certainly affects colours

    My way
    painting sand Humrol
    Drying tume
    Apply yellow Ochre
    Clean with a sponge
    Raw umber for shadowing
Titanium white with a micro-mini-tiny touch of Naple yellow for highlights

    "My way

Same here, except that instead of Humbrol #63, Sand, I used Humbrol #93, Desert Yellow (on top of the primary of course).

And then 3 coats of the mix mentioned before, varying the percentage of each of the paints on each new coat.

    "Clean with a sponge"

Also cleaned after each coat, not with a sponge, but with this (don't know the right name) :

Same here, mixed with a tiny little bit of Yellow Ochre.

    Same here.

    Thanks!
