ok looking through the old grey army I came across some very nice 54mm 1/32nd I believe British figures for the Zulu wars and have an idea. Masterbox does a few 1/35th European wagons. in Zulu dawn Col. Drunsford meets hi end while fighting atop a wagon which in the film he falls from into a ravine. Can I get away with the 1/35th wagon with the 54mm figures or would the difference in scale make it look really bad? Thanks for any input. Regards, Brock

I remember that Rendall Patton did some resin cast 54mm british zulu figures which were compatible with Airfix. However, 1/35 is truly significantly smaller than 1/32 (just compare Airfix and Tamiya) and my understanding of present 1/32 makes is that they are slightly larger than good old Airfix.

Don't confuse size and scale
Size
( like 54mm is a convention 54mm from sole of the foot to eyes level, meaning all figurines zulu, napoleon, ladies, sooux, ancient greek are all 54mm )
Scale
( 1/32 means that every real size is divided by 32 a guy of 1m80 is reduced to 56,25mm, a guy 1m55 is reduced to 48,50mm )

But now see what producers does with the scale
On the left Force of Valor, on the right King&Country . Both coming from a diorama box with tanks and figurines, both boxes marked 1/32, the tank are the same size but now the figurines delivered with the tanks ( the tanks side by side don't show difference because the scale is respected 1/32 )

Regarding your specific question-will 1/32 scale figures work with a 1/35 scale wagon (not, will 1/32 scale figures work with 1/35 scale figures), the answer in this case is a qualified yes. The wagon might not look too small, alongside figures in the larger scale. If the vehicle was an AFV, or an aircraft, or a car, then it might look more obvious that it was in a smaller scale. Put a Monogram Panzer crewman next to a Tamiya Pzkw IV, for example, and you can see that the figure is a little too big.

It might come down to eyeballing the figures with the wagon to see, which means you'd have to buy the kit, and if it doesn't look right, you're stuck with it, or at least, it ends up in your stash.
