I bought this at a game store yesterday it’s a games workshop ( citadel ) paint holder they come in a small size as pictured $ 8 US dollars a large white I ordered $ 15 US dollars And a large with clip arms $21 US dollars the gentleman at the store also gave me a tree with these plastic game bases all I’m going to do is tack the bust with superglue to the base of the piece I’m working on and use this when I hand paint I was given the idea to put my oil paint on a piece of cardboard to leech the oil out then transfer to a white ceramic tile he said this not only makes the paint dry flat but aides in drying time ??? Has any one else used or have heard of that process ?... here are a few quick pics showing different size busts,,,,,,,, also forgot to add the gray piece of plastic comes in different sizes because the top of the holder can be spread to accept three different size bases or blanks same goes for the large size these blanks are made by a few different game companies

By far the biggest downside to soaking out the oil is...it causes the paint to 'drag'...thereby needing added thinners...something I only ever do if I want to create a 'wash' with a colour.

The one on the left is made by Amati Roto Paint System It comes with a rotating support, a handle, two interchangeable base.
    https://www.agesofsail.com/ecommerce/hobby-tools/amati-tools/amati-roto-paint-system-am7391.html or from amazon.

The one on the right is a DIY. It consists of a Amati gripper vise, a security camera mounting bracket and a metal gear for base. The bracket and gear is something that I recycle from my work.
