    Hi Guys,

My version of the new 1/12 sculpt by me of a Glider Pilot, 1944, just released by Mookies Miniatures. Check out their post in Figure News for details.

Cheers Nap - the shoulder flashes and div badges are decals as they are very small to try to hand paint! I think it is intended that a set is sent out with the bust. Youll need to check with Richard at Mookies. (y)

I printed the decals. The lettering is in dk blue on a clear background and the Pegasus is maroon and light blue. I painted the shoulder flash in lt blue, then applied a gloss varnish, then the decal. The Div badge was applied to a gloss white square. All edges touched in, then sealed with matt varnish. All other insignia was hand done.(y)

Still can't help admiring this bust, Steve - I've ordered one from Richard, & I think when it arrives I'll definitely add an Africa Star ribbon below the Glider pilot wings to denote a 1st Airborne Div SNCO.
You'll more than likely appreciate the significance of this bust to your local history, with The Staffordshire Regiment being one of the two authorised to wear the glider arm flash. If I'm round your neck of the woods again I'd love to visit the Whittington Barracks museum, think the last time I went was in 1978!

Cheers Chris - Ive done a few minor conversions from Paras to S Staffs figures in my time, by changing the cap badge! The Museum is still there and will be recognisable as there have been few changes. The main difference is the access road to it. You could combine this with a visit to the National Arboretum, which is relatively close, too.(y)
