    Hi guys

    Verbal update :)

Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten to work. More precisely, to sculpting. Because I've been immersed at work since Monday.

In the end, I decided that the diorama would be quite large. I planned 24 figures. At the moment, I'm sitting over a huge pile of material that Neil gave me here in the thread and in the PM. There is an incredible amount, and really wonderful armours will come in this project. Many thanks to Neil for his research, not only in terms of armours, but also in terms of heraldry and some controversial or speculative coats of arms of the participants in this battle.

Anyway, if my plans come out the way I want, it will be a spectacular epic and dynamic scene.

This week, I will probably work until Sunday (and probably even on Monday) to complete the entire design of the diorama, select the materials for each character and thoroughly plan the next steps.

Next week (about Tuesday) I will start sculpting again, and I believe that everything will go much faster than before.

Anyway, stay safe, I wish you all a nice rest of the week and get ready for a great ride :)

    Cheers Borek

    Hi Nap :)

Thanks for the nice comment. I'm looking forward to resuming the sculpting work, I really think it will be great. In the meantime, I discuss the materials and choose the armor of the individual warriors. The composition looks really interesting, I hope I managed to create a real impression of a close combat scrum, where men push and influence each other. Originally, I wanted to publish the entire proposal, but this would deprive the follower of the gradual discovery of individual characters and their poses. So I will reveal the composition via WIP :)

Thanks to everyone for watching, have a nice weekend and stay safe all of you.

    Cheers Borek ;)

Day ten (of sculpting), WIP No. 19

    Hello everyone :)

So I'm back and I'm continuing sculpting. Today it was the turn of Sir Raoulet d'Aspremont (or d'Apremont). Here are the first touches on the Aspremont's shapes. No documents are known for his armor, so I use materials from other armor from that period, which will be the approach of most of the characters in this diorama.

Aspremont himself fought on the side of the English, but he was a French knight. So I chose the tombstones of two French knights close to this period and I will use some parts of their armor for the figure of Raoul d'Aspremont.

From the picture on the left (Guillaume de Bure) I will use greaves and vambraces, as well as protection of the knees and elbows, from the right picture (Henri de Meudon) I will use the other parts of the armor.

Thanks for watching and have a nice day to you all :)

    Cheers Borek :)

    Hi Borek

Thanks for the updates and references your using ...good links from Neil as always

I've said it before ..I am amazed at the armour your achieving , so many different lines and angles to think about ...and in such a small scale ....great to see

The support on the pieces are interesting as well

I reckon you should do a video of your sculpting ....just a thought ...lol

Looking forward to seeing more when possible

    Happy benchtime

Thanks so much Nap for the nice words.

I've already tried to do a video of sculpting, but I don't have a suitable camera, all attempts turned out badly.

Static photos and turntable videos work, but when I tried to shoot straight sculpting, it was never sharp, no matter what setting I used, including the auto. Unfortunately...

Some more work on Aspremont. Refining the lines and details of the right foot.

Great Borek... it's fantastic seeing details from the various references we've shared coming to life (I can see how you've combined aspects of the two brasses).

Can't wait to see the final thing... it will be criminal if you don't finish and get it to market!

    Hi Borek

Another fine update and the forming of the armour is tops

Do like the way you've included various types as well

Question ...have you a particular favourite period to sculpt ?

    Look forward to more

    Happy sculpting

Hi Neil :). Thanks for the compliment, and especially for the great help with the search. Yes, it's exciting, and I hope I don't commit a crime, finish the diorama and get into commercial sales :)

Thanks so much Nap for the compliment :). To your question - quite frankly, my favorite is Fantasy :). As for history, definitely the Middle Ages in the first place, the Dark Ages in the second place, and the Napoleonic Wars in the third :)

Have a nice days to all and stay safe!

    Cheers Borek :)

Hi guys. Some more sequels. The work is not going the fastest now, I still have some rest that I still have to finish, but from the middle of next week I will accelerate sharply and I will only deal with this diorama.

    Have a nice day.

    Cheers Borek

Some more work, I slowly get to the top of the figure, although there is still a lot of work and refinement on his feet.

Have a nice day and see you at the next WIP :)

    Hi Borek

Nice update there ...like the material folds and creases

Still hard for a mere mortal to comprehend how this is achieved ...and in the scale ...it's being brought to life more with every post

    Thanks for sharing

    Happy sculpting
