Beautiful piece of eye candy Paul and really glad to see how the painting is bringing it to life (even more!) Love this period which seems sadly under represented generally:)

Excellent sculpting additions to the original figure, Paul. Great, clean, painting too, so far.
(For me would be a nightmare painting a figure with the hands crossed in front of its belly ! )

Outstanding artistry as usual Paul. I would be most grateful for a SBS on how you so beautifully painted the tricolore drapeau staff. I have been trying to figure a method for an Austrian flag staff with no luck. Cheers.

Just catching this thread now and wow what a lesson in modeling, every step of the way is done to perfection, so cleanly done and neat, not a brush stroke or spec of dust in the paint, outstanding work.

The flag pole is made from a wooden toothpick, primed with Humbrol as is the rest of the figure. I tried to use masking tape to get the perfect spacing between the colored stripes but the manipulation was too risky for the upper part of the flag (which you don't see in the pictures) so I finally painted it without any guide, and same for the lower part
