    Hello folks,
I was hoping for some time off from work to get some more figures started for my Miason du Roy at Fontenoy vignette.
My donating figure in this case is Garde Française, his musket got torn so, perfect excuse for me to recreate this awesome illustration of the Regiment of Dauphin Timbalier.
The pose is almost close to that of the illistration .
I clipped off some parts and sanded others.

This is a very ambitious project, especially all the lace on the coat and drum banners. Will keep you busy for sure.

Made some progress on this chap.
Added the 3 lace on his cuffs using lead foil and had use an xacto knife to cut 3 lines of lace.
I have got my hands on a couple of spare parts ( Historex) that i had on my box of part i have been collecting for years and decided to use the Hips of a legs for the kettle drums, all i need to do is sand some areas and then add putty to make the height and more round shape, the circumference is about right for this scale. 20200414_211432.jpg 20200415_141501.jpg 20200415_154309.jpg

I have received 4 figures from Trident yesterday, 2 SYW French mounted officers and 2 British dragoons from the AWI series which i will convert to French gendarmeeie Trumpeters.
The French officers will require no conversion to the troopers of the Dauphin gendarmes except a thin silver lace around the cuffs.
The kettle drummer's lace is done and primed. 20200416_211453.jpg 20200416_211519.jpg 20200416_211539.jpg

Reds done, silver lace done, i need some outlining and work on the vests, boots, hats and faces.
I added the bandolier using a bottle of wine wrapp whichis perfect when you are missing lead foil.
The bandoliers of the Dauphin Gendarmes were blue edged silver, the Chevaux-legéres de Dauphin had the exact same uniform, the only difference between them was their bandolier since they were "light" the blue hue was lighter.
Started to work on the kettle drummer lace , fun times! 20200418_025431.jpg 20200418_025446.jpg 20200418_025456.jpg 20200418_025600.jpg

I added the bandoliers and worked on the horse saddle and housings a little.
The kettle drum will require some work. 7fff0c9273e0d1b7b731b20a322be5af--french-army-french-revolution.jpg 20200418_141806.jpg 20200418_141823.jpg 20200418_141740.jpg

I worked on this chap most of the day, built the boots, hair , and plumes on the hat.
The one in the picture does not show plumes , perhaps because he is from few years earlier, the illustration says 1720's, Osprey describe the Gendarmes Musicians wearing white , ot crimson or white and crimson plumes.
I have worked on fixing the lace in some areas, i've made the lace on the sleeves as well and added the sword. 20200422_152923.jpg 20200422_230304.jpg 20200422_230308.jpg 20200422_230315.jpg
