Nice work, Mahmoud. I’ve been considering a similar conversion of this bust, and look forward to following your progress on it.

Nice change, the original head looked far too old and European for my taste. Facial hair was not in style in the colonies (at least if you weren't out on the frontier) as it may have been in Europe, this head makes him look much more the part.

    What is "a JR" head?

Agree with that 100%, the face of the original is what put me off buying it. Otherwise it's a very nice piece and I think the head transplant improves it no end.

Looks to be one of the Warriors heads sculpted by John Rosengrant.

BTW, is the hat...backwards, or sideways? Its always been my impression that the tricorn hat was worn with the pointed end to the front. allowing more room for the rifle to be held in the left or right shoulder, or fired, without the hat interfering. As such:

Chris, you might want to take a look at Reedees Miniatures website. The offered a nice set of replacement heads in this scale at one time. They are a bit smaller than the old Warriors head sets done by John Rosengrant, but should work with many 1/10 or 1/9 busts, depending on the producer.
