If all goes to plan I will be launching my new company autumn 2020 for which I still need a name. Been trying to think one up for weeks now.

Can anybody recommend a castor preferably UK or at a pinch EU based?

I’m in talks with a digital sculptor and we will hopefully be working on five 75mm kits !

I’m wondering if I should by a vacuum chamber chamber, pressure pot etc and DIY or get an expert to do it as I have never cast small pieces before!

    Thanks Nap

I’ll announce in a couple of months, but I will give you a hint

I’m actually quite excited as the sculptor read my mind.

The figures will be interesting to paint and will feature moving action poses.

Two human figures will be posable on their own or together. You can then pose them individually or together with either the HUGE mounted figure (approx 200mm tall) or the creature which will stand about 120mm.

I may offer the mounted figure in 54mm as well owing to it’s size.

I have more planned if this lot sell well.

This is a project I wanted to do since the mid 1990s.

I can recommend a caster based in Matlock who I used when first starting out, high quality and nice bloke to work with.
Here is a link to his website with contact details.

In the long run it really pays to do your casting in house, it takes little bit of knowledge and practice but very doable in a short period of time with a Vacuum chamber and pump.

    Cheers

Don't go for BrokenToad. They're already fully booked out.

Martyn at Model Display Products is a good UK one as is Rob Huntley at Warploque Miniatures.

EU wise I highly recommend Ciprian Negut.

    Thanks for your help

I will eventually set up casting myself, not having done for any for 25 years so I’m a bit out of practice and I want these kits to be good quality from the start.

The sculptor now has them in his queue so more news in a few months.

Considering your expertise on matters of historical accuracy, your new venture should be a blast.Best of luck and I am eagerly waiting for your first release.

My first venture is actually a series of figures based on a book written over 100 years ago that I read in the 1970s which heavily influenced a lot of writers and film makers today.

    Historical stuff will follow!

Message received! Lets hope you're thinking along Schoonver/St. John design lines as opposed to modern nudie fantasy smut :)

Lol... I think that was 1914 for the book, though the pulp was 1912...
