I built my own out of scraps of luan plywood. I needed to see the labels on my bottles of paint. I'm not colorblind, but it makes it easier to grab the exact bottle, if I can read the label.

I had built one previously out of sheet styrene, but it didn't hold up to the wear-and-tear.

I put labels on the lids for jars of paint, though, so I can see at a glance which jar is which.

    Prost!

That's a clever and very simple idea

I put colour dots on top ...but still find seeing the right colour hard sometime

Used to separate them with cardboard ...didn't work as well as this idea

You could separate into colours as well using this

    Thanks for sharing this Marc

    I went from this:

    to this:

Now that I think about it, I wound up building a second version, with two more "shelves" in it, to fit all of my eyedropper bottles and craft store acrylics.

By happy coincidence, that insert fit perfectly into the toolbox I bought, to be able to take my paints on the road with me.

    Prost!

Marc, the answer for you might be to check out Jon Page's Sphere Products here in the UK, as he produces just such a rack for oil / acrylic paint tubes .
I have one , and it works fine.(y)

Hi Mark, Jon made a rack for me to fit my work bench, it holds around 60 tubes of paint.

Hi Marc-this is the rack that Jon made for me, it was to my exact measurements and made to fit underneath an old CD rack that I no longer used. Of course you can frame it any way that suits you.

The first picture shows the full rack, the second a close up of one section and the third a seperate box with more tubes. The 4th picture is my desk and the 5th the other side of my painting room where the prep takes place...closely guarded by the dog asleep underneath...LOL

Hope this helps Marc-see you in July at Eindhoven.

Well spotted Chris, Lidl had this idea of giving customers free gifts at the checkout in a newly opened store locally. 12 Toilet rolls for free, straight down to the modelling shed....I did consider Ebaying them when the panic started....LOL

Never understood what that was all about,

    Stay safe

    HI Marc,

My rack was made on the same lines but is all in one piece designed to fit the measurements I gave Jon. There is no perfect answer as it is basically designed for Winsor & Newton paints. I also have paints by Rembrandt, Mussini and Old Holland which either have different sized caps or like Rembrandt are longer tubes. As you can see from the pictures I also have another storage box to the side.
