Along the lines of clearing the bench I’m off and running on this bust. It’s really cool and I made some pretty good progress over the last few days. This is in the early stages and I still have a long way to go in the face.

This is well outside my comfort zone. I usually paint Napoleonics and 54MM.

Painted in acrylics so far. The leather will be oils.

    All comments welcome.

    Thanks Chris!

Bob, I'm going to be adding a significant amount of color and depth to the face. I've been looking at Jason Green and Ernesto Reyes' Vbench for guidance. They do amazing bust's and they add lots of color to make it pop. As I said this is way outside my comfort zone. Its the size of (3) 54MM's side by side. There is a lot pallet here.

Thanks Nap, I was lucky and found it at local show for like $7.00 USD. I had to paint it at that price. :) Modelers are notoriously cheap. ;)

Thanks Terry, you can do it. Anyone can, just takes time and patience.

Updated pictures, I’m still trying to create more depth. It’s a slow process, trying not rush it.

    Helmet is done!

    Painted in Acrylics and Oils.

I may add additional washes after it’s all put together if needed.

Excellent chipping & wear on the whitewashed helmet, Mike. Your weathering skills would look good on an AFV model.

Started the Autumn Oakleaf pattern. Learning as I go. It’s kind of trial and error. I spent a lot of time on Calvin Tan’s Blog and researched Jaume Ortiz Foren’s posts.

This is the 1st time I’ve painted camouflage. And at 1/10 is crazy. Probably have another week or left on the camouflage.

All comments and advice are welcome.

    Thanks Joe!

I'm in the process of mucking it up right now!

Thanks Chris! I actually used AFV weathering techniques o the helmet as it felt right for the scale. I'll probably do the same for the rifle and cupr. We shall see how it flows.

    Thanks Jed!

Nap, I used Vallejo , Cavalry Brown, Brown Sand, and Green for the base. I used Sunny Skin Tone, Basic Skin Tone, and Light Flesh for the highlights, The Shadows were Base + Cavalry Brown + Burnt Cadmium Red.

    Me too!
