This time I'm posting some photos of small vignette of some larger 90 mm figures of a French Dragoon and a Drummer of the Line.
The Dragoon is from Poste Militaire and the drummer is from Le Cimier.

Love it, second time that we have seen this classic Poste Militaire French Dragoon appear on PF lately and to couple him up with the drummer has resulted in a excellent chunky 90mm vignette, I can almost feel the weight of this old school piece, wonderful stuff!
I also noticed that a couple of started kits of the above mentioned Dragoon have been getting snapped up on Ebay lately, just wonder if its anything to do with its recent appearance on PF and which one of the PF members were responsible for outbidding me lol.

I still like the older lead/white metal figures. I like 90 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm, any size in white metal is good for me! I have a huge collection of 54 mm plastic Historex figures that I really enjoy converting. I'm not a big fan of the new resin figures. Detail and sharpness in casting is superb though.

Which Le Cimier figure is this? Is it figure TIL by Roger Roussel, but modified?

Richard, the Le Cimier figure is a "Tambour Infanterie Grenadier Ligne 1804-1812" sculpted by Charles Conrad. I bought the figure while in Paris more than 30 years ago. I did some converting to it to make him fit with the scenario depicted.

Thanks, I think that we are talking about the same figure. I have a Le Cimier catalogue from 2003 and I think that I misread the figure code and it is by Charles Conrad. If it is, it would mean changing the right arm to pointing position, the left arm to hold the pipe instead of a drumstick, and the drum being slung on top of the back behind the figure's head.

You got it! I also had to put the drumsticks into the slots on his cross belt. Glad you like it. I don't even know if Le Cimier is still around? A great shop in the day.

Sadly not, closed a few years ago. Some of their figures are still sought after and change hands for elevated prices, especially the 180mm ones. Bruno Leibovitz managed to recover the masters of his 54mm 1st Empire figures and now sells them under his Metal Modeles range. Would be nice to see some of the larger scale figures making a comeback too.
