    Hello guys,
Kirill Kanaev finished the box art for our new vignette.
I hope that you like it.
    Sculpted by Vladimir Danilov, 75mm.

Amongst, if not 'the' best painted representations of animal skins (lion and wolf) on Roman figures that I have ever seem. Just superb!

Not much to say .Vladimir Danilov is a giant of an artist and each new creation of his a sensation.Painted by another phenomenal artist this turns into an award winning vignette. To top it off it is being released by a company owned by a very generous and well intentioned person. Now can this get any better?I don't think so!

Seeing painting this good makes me feel like chucking in the paint brushes and taking up morris dancing instead.

Like many other members its hard not to think of the Air Guitar thing with one of the figures but setting that aside the sculpt and painting come together to make this a beautiful piece of work, it will be left up to whoever buys this kit wither or not to adjust the pose of the figure or have him holding something (not a guitar).

I can see why everyone thinks about "air guitar", but we can see, can we not, that he's gesticulating to his comrade about the uneven share of coinage at their feet ?
It doesn't spoil the vignette for me....I'll be inspecting the contents of my pensions wallet directly with a view to purchase.
An outstanding sculpt from a true artist(y)

There was something about this that troubled me and then I realised what it was .......it's almost to good.
The poses are so accurate and realistic they initially looked a bit contrived to me.
On reflection it became clear that this is a masterclass in storytelling. Everything works, you get a real sense that the cornicen is hopping mad and that the aquilifer is stubbornly digging his heels in and staying just this side of bursting out laughing.
It's got everything that a vignette should have and as for the groundwork the use of the horn to divide the shares is so clever (y)
Painting is a bit good too ;)

Outstanding and the odd pose and facial expression suggested to me that he was taunting the other to bet???? or shut up.
    Great diorama.

Division of spoils...the cornicen crossbar is being used as the share-out, and he's not happy with it, The Standard bearer probably thinks he's the senior , so deserves a larger pot. That's how I'm reading it.

Yes its now becoming much clearer the guy is not doing anything related to a guitar, he has simply adopted the 'What the ****' gesture.
