Coming along well there. Just one minor point, the figure doesn't seem to have spurs, rather strange for a cavalryman. Maybe just the picture and camera angle. Do these come as separate parts?

Hi Richard, yes there are spurs as separate pieces but I’ve not added them yet so I don’t damage them.

Good move, don't want another sacrifice to the carpet monster.

Moved on a bit further with this. I need to tidy up the lace a bit and the boots and cartridge box, together with the gauntlets are still in undercoat at this stage. The photos aren’t the greatest but hopefully it gives some idea as to how things are progressing. Would you be willing to share your colour mix for the grey, it's always a bit of an elusive shade?

  10. Cannonball A Fixture

Hi Richard, no problem. I put the mix up earlier in the thread, basically Titanium white, Ivory Black, French Ultramarine Blue and some Cobalt Violet Hue. Hope this is of use.

Well you've certainly "moved this on a bit"

It works really well with the uniform against the red ...very impressive stuff

Perhaps add some lettering on the waterbottle ?

Are you going to push the shako any further ?

Thanks Nap. I was going to add the War Dept arrow head on the canteen but the paint was still wet when I took the photo so will wait till it’s dry. I’m pretty happy with the shako cover although I might dirty it up a little.

Getting near to the finish now. Added the carbine, pistol, sword and sabretache. I’ve made the “s” buckle for the front of the sword belt out of fuse wire and used the same wire to run the cords on the waist sash to the toggle at the rear of the sash, to fill the small gap where the cords stopped. 53A409B6-6829-4AF2-9205-745B7C6CEC1D.jpeg 2348BCDC-E804-49C7-B309-4E08D38FCC96.jpeg 2B9B25A3-2868-436E-B32C-F42FD96C7599.jpeg 52364190-9051-485B-9B12-D51C49176BA0.jpeg
