I must confess I totally forgot to post updates of my latest work to WIP section in here, so I'll try to make up for it by at least posting the finished piece.

The idea was to recreate the propaganda poster seen in the movie Edge of Tomorrow. It depicts Rita Vrataski, also known as Angel of Verdun and/or Full Metal Bitch in a heroic pose designed as a recruiting add. It's the first thing Tom Cruise's character sees every time he relives the day, which happens a lot. Here's the poster from the movie:

Black Veil Figures has a nice Rita Vrataski figure (called Pria for reasons) in almost correct pose, so I decided to finish the illusion and build her a fitting background and base. I painted the background digitally in Photoshop and printed it out in a good printer. The base was a fun challenge since the original poster has only a few very cartoonish tentacles and nothing like the final mimic monsters in the movie. So I sculpted a base with a dead mimic for Rita to stand triumphantly upon. Finally the sword blade was redone to be more movie-accurate and the exoskeleton got some missing tubing.

Here's the finished version mimicing (pun intended) the movie's propaganda poster:

I freehanded them. Making a stencil and airbrushing them would've been million times faster, but I don't have a laser cutter and making stencils this small by hand was pretty impossible for me at least.

Thanks! The model is from Black Veil Models, I accidentally typed the name wrong on the original post as Black Veil Figures. As far as I know it should still be available.
