I don’t post much on here, but I am happy with the progress I am making on this bust. It’s far from finished but I thought I’d share. Critique welcome. FFD24D1F-A33A-4CAC-A9E7-1C6FF1AFFC65.jpeg

Looking great so far - the subtle shading on the red coat, & the metal effects on the gorget are particularly impressive.

I don’t remember and as I purchased it second hand (not a recast), it came in an unmarked box.

Steves name rings a bell but not 100%

Thought it might have been released by Imperial Gallery but there is a similar one but that was a private not officer ....msybe Fort Royal or Lost Battalion ?

It's a good subject and following this one , I would probably put a dark wash on the lacework

    Happy benchtime

Thanks Steve. The underside of the tricorn was a bit of bother, but otherwise it’s been a joy to paint

I know I changed the fitting, as there was a lot to clean back on the first batch!(y)

I’m simply including this for the sake of discussion. I’m glad to hear you’ve made change Steve.

It was designed as a generic piece, to allow the painter to depict whichever regiment they preferred. My version is a 38th Foot at Guadeloupe, another guy at club painted it up as a Royal Artillery officer.... Looking good, so far, look forward to seeing where this goes(y)
