I'm finally going to call this one completed, just the bayonet to fit, which I didn't include for the pictures, all in all a very enjoyable piece to paint and one I'm very pleased with, its got the feel I wanted to achieve when I set out painting it.
There will be a small addition with a piece of backdrop, but ill post that one up at a later date.

The bust is 200mm scale and is produced in resin, apart from the bayonet.
I have added some kit details below should anyone be interested in purchasing it.

French Imperial Young Guard - Waterloo 1815
    Kit number - CR11
    Produced by Graham Scollick
    Sculpted by - Carl Reid

The piece was basecoated in GW acrlics and finished in WN oil paints, the metalics being completed with Darkstar range of metalics.

Many thanks jeff for your coments.
I think my secret is down to having a love of modelmaking and painting all my life really since I could put together an airfix spitfire, the passion has never really left me,ive been painting figures for over 30 years now and its become a passion of mine,im always reading about models and figures and striving to better each piece I do,some of my early stuff back in the early 80s I wouldn't dare to post on here,it was crap, but as they say, practise makes perfect and I suppose practising for 30 odd years has got me to a reasonable standard now.(y)

Thanks, Brian. I started with Airfix aircraft kits too, (in the ’50s!) and discovered Historex figures in the ’70s, then I stopped. Family and career meant I didn’t pick up the hobby again until the 2000s. I’ll never even approach your level of finish but it’s certainly an inspiration to keep trying.

Quality, just quality. I have admired this since seeing it come to life in various WIP pictures. If I could get a quarter of this standard I would be very happy indeed. Feeling inspired (y)
