    Hi guys,

Following on from my little soirée with Jimbo ( see " isn't he cuddly" in lounge ) .

This is of course from Frank Miniatures .....a fine bit of work from Carl Reid , could be left as it is but I been working on it .....

.....cleaned up the helmet cover ( took the tears out ) and replaced the regimental Number to the 101 as in my crap pictures ...will be painting the number on the epaulettes ,

Gave him the Iron cross ribbon

Detailed up the pipe as in reference pics ( put a tiny helmet on the top ) , put a Landwehr cross on it surrounded by a laurel leaf , reworked the stem a bit as well ......more details will be added when painting

    Might promote him ?

Thinking about adding a lamp hanging from a button..providing I can get accurate pictures !

Threw a bit of putty about adding a cockade with cross on the base itself

Now need to keep it away from my hands..let it all dry ..patience Nap !.....taking it to the Salisbury Show on 30th ...rifle and pipe will be blu tacked on !

All comments/ suggestions welcome of course

    Thanks for looking in

With all the excellent additions you've done, I'm a little surprised that you added the numbers on the pickelhaub cover with putty. Since they were painted on the actual cover, I would have thought the same approach could have been utilized on the miniature version. Nevertheless, the modifications are imaginative and well executed, and the final result will be wonderful to see. Thanks for sharing!

The work you've done so far is superb. Nice touches and putting your own stamp on him.
This will look a treat when painted.
    Thanks for sharing, kind regards
    Bob.

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the comments appreciated.

    Don,

Ref the helmet details , they were painted on but later on i, our soldier has one of the earlier versions prior 1914 !, they were originally in red cloth changed to a dark green and eventually phased out as the war progressed.

    Marc,

Glasses ...like the idea of that , I have 120 mm verlinden will try them ..if not might have to utilise my brain!.....beard stays!! Off to look at german glasses !

Looking forward to getting this going on the bench

Nap, thanks for the info regarding the early war helmet covers. The WW1 period is one about which I know very little, so please forgive my ignorance regarding the cloth numbers. I will be looking forward to more updates from you on this project.
