    Hi guys,

I’d like to share my recent work.

A classic figure “Walter von Hohenklingen” from Soldiers.

I painted it in oils as usual.

The ground work was made by my friend Sukottu Gurei san.

Hope you like him and the ground work.

Very nice indeed Konrad only minor niggle for me is the name plate it's very well done but a bit too wriggly for me and it distracts the eye I think . That's just an IMO of course I love the reds, what is the mix mate ?

Stunning paintwork. The ground looks awesome but is definitely not a battleground. Phantastic!

Wow!! many thanks to everybody for the kind words!

The nameplate was made by Sukottu Gurei san same as the ground work.
I thought it looks like parchment and has good effect, but as you mentioned maybe it's too wriggly to read.
the recipe for the reds are:
    base: cadmium red deep hue
    highlight: vermilion hue+titanium white
    shadow: base+burnt umber+cadmium green hue
(I use water soluble oil color "DUO")
    thanks for the comment:)

One of the main color of this figure is red, so Sukottu gurei san tried to make green (complementary color for red) ground work. He imagined ruined castle in a dark forest.
as you mentioned it looks fairylike or not like battleground but I love it:)
