    Hi guys,

Some initial pics of my latest 120mm figure. A Japanese Special Naval Landing Force flag bearer, in my usual Milliput over a wire armature. Head will be used as a dolly for a new face, etc. Flag done in Milliput over a foil core with wire pole. Puttees in masking tape, trousers done and hands in Milliput over fuse wire, so far.

    Thanks for looking,

    Steve(y)

    Hi Steve

Great to see the putty being pushed and a interesting subject as well

There's a good Osprey book on these forces with a picture of a group coming ashore one carrying a flag ...sure you've probably seen the book

    Look forward to more

    Happy sculpting

    Stay safe

Hi Guys, some progress pics of this afternoon's session. Tunic added, minus lapels, atm, then on to head and helmet, prior to adding equipment. 120mm scale, in Milliput over wire armature.

    Hi Steve!

Fantastic work until now, one of my favourite subjects and scale because there aren't in the market many figures about this army and period of the history.
Will be for commercial purpose? I hope so.

    Cheers

Hi Francisco - thanks for your kind words. I would like it to become commercial, I am sculpting it in sections with that in mind. We shall have to hope that one of the manufacturers sees it!(y)

    Hi folks,

Further work on my 120mm Japanese Special Naval Landing Force flag bearer. Helmet and ammo pouches roughed out, detailing later when everything's cured...(y)

Like the way the ammo pouches are going so far Steve, & it looks to me as though you’ve modelled the feet into those split-toed boots the Japanese Army used to wear. Excellent features, I like the way this is coming together.

Cheers Chris, yes, Ive made the boots into Tabi - split toed pumps! According to research, they were issued to be used off duty, but became favoured when landing on the islands in the Pacific. I suppose being canvas and rubber, theyd dry quicker than leather. Just been shaping up the helmet,so lots of sanding and filing still to be done!

On the home straight with my 120mm Japanese Special Naval Landing Force flag bearer. Some insignia to add and a slung Arisaka 38 rifle, plus adding buttons, etc, then on to a general tidy up...(y)
