Hi All hope you are all keeping safe and doing the right things to stay safe ,
I would like to ask if anyone knows of a chart that tells you what colours are best for shading and for highlighting for example for Red you would use a green to get your shadows was wondering if there is something that gives you all the shading and highlighting of the main colours if that makes sense.

Hi OSS Yellowcat has given you all the info that you'll need to shade effectively, but if its red that is giving you difficulties may I suggest that you keep your 'pure' red for the highlights and make everything else darker. You can get away sometimes with adding flesh to give a highlight, but it's easy for the colour to turn 'pinkish' (adding orange can also work although, again, it can lead to other issues)
Incidentally if you want a really bright red then using a yellow undercoat will help brighten it and make it easier to get really high highlights
