As a life long fan of The Lord of the Rings, I couldn't resist the Knight Models series of 75mm white metal figures of some of the characters from Peter Jackson's epic movie trilogy. I wish they'd complete the series and give us the remaining characters, but I expect I will be waiting in vain for that to happen.

In the meantime, I've chosen to paint Saruman "The White", who as you can see is not white at all, but a mixture of different off-white tones and hues. These photos represent my progress over the past two nights, and I can see so much that needs to be done to this figure.

I'm looking forward to painting some of the detailed brocade patterns on the gown and around the cuffs of the sleeves.

The base colour was made using a mixture of Josonja acrylic Warm White, Fawn and Nimbus Grey.

As always I welcome any comments, suggestions or constructive criticism.
