That's another nice 1882 figure, any chance of a head variation with a Sennet hat?
As I have the medal to a sailor on HMS Monarch as part of the Gatling gun crew at Tel el Kebir. The ships photo have them wearing them.

Great figure. Face reminds me of the guy in the logo on the Players' fag packet (HMS Hero?).

Hi guys, painted the boxart for this little fellow, and all I can say is that the figure is a beauty, lovely sculpt, and excellent casted with no cleanup at all. Just like all the others in that range. (y)
This and all the other figures (released and yet to come) are a must have for all the figure painters
of this time period ! ;)

    A Very Nice little figure,
Can anyone tell me when the Knee pads were first issued,
If any one had asked me I would have said very recently.
Amazing what info you can pick up.

Thanks for all the kind word for this figure, Eddy's box art will be on display at Euro this coming weekend. With the other 4 figures in this our Sudan range all painted by Eddy.

Mick I am looking forward to discussion relating to the knee pads. I am not exactly sure when they were introduced but I will ask a friend who is very up on Victoria's armies and see what he says. I suspect they were introduced around 1850, after the Crimea war.

Look forward to seeing everyone at Euro.
