As you know I have been dabbling in flats for the last year or more - I was lucky enough to recieve the 3 new Pilipili releases recently and would like to share my attempt at the first one completed. Painted in oils.

Quang - you are a genius

It is framed, but I thought you'd appreciate the figure better than the frame.

I like it a lot. Especially the face and the veil.
The hands looks a little out of focus though?

And where are the other two?? :D

    Cheers

    Hi Stephen
Fantastic paint job mate.I didn't know you were into flats but you've been hiding your light under a bushel as you've done a cracking job.

This is a very nicely done piece. Thanks for sharing this.

I have to admit though I had an ironic thought. A flat... of a painting.
It made me think of the line from Steven Wright, "If I put instant coffee in the microwave, will I go back in time? "

All right boys back to work - you have made be big headed enough. But let me leave you with this thought - Nothing is idiot proof to a sufficiently talented idiot.

    I might have known...

...when there's a lady about you wouldn't be far off!
In all seriousness though, I reckon this might be your best peice to date. Those fleshtones are, to quote Jay, 'spot on'
Have a pat on the back from me mate!
