    Hi guys;

    Just a few admittedly poor pictures of the wee friends 54mm Jacobite standard bearer. It was a bit of a struggle for me. I had a difficult time with the paint glossing up on me, which usually isn't the case, and I wasn't happy with the ground work until I happened on a fresh pack of static grass. But all's well that ends well I suppose, so any and all comments, questions, criticisms and even the odd cheeky remark would be welcome.

    Very impressive Glenn

    Wow, really lovely work . . . all that plaid and so well done. With the banner
    waving, there is so much eye appeal to this figure. Kinda makes me want
    to quit and take up drinking full time. . .

    Jusssssss kidding but this is beautiful work. Very nice photographs too.

    Mark, Marc, Carl and Rick; thanks one and all for your kind comments. I think I will lay off the tartan for awhile now. I had been teaching my students about the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745 and was thus inspired. But on to something different eh? And by something different, I do mean something with a simple colour scheme! :)

    Ken, John and Ian Thanks very much, I'm glad you all like the tartan work. I hit on a technique that works for me (acrylic over oil with a tiny tiny brush) and it has worked so far.

    Dave, thanks again for your kind words. I'd like to make a few more meetings now that the Christmas season has passed. Had some rather hectic days here, but I'll talk to the missus about getting release time for this Tuesday. I'd like you to see him up close as the pictures really aren't very good.

    By the way, while I am posting replies, does anyone here have a firm date for the Sword and Lance show in Darlington?

    Excellent painting Glenn, the face and the tartan are really good.

    Thanks Tony, just getting in touch with my roots! Next up is JMD's 54mm French soldier from WWI. He's going much better, but I am taking the time to try and do a proper job on the ground work by constructing a section of trench. This takes me a long time, mostly because ground work is my least favorite thing to do.
