    Very nice work Edward,nice work on the eyes,these le cimier / metal modeles figures are great and I know how small those faces are,you have done a great job on the face and lacework,look forward to seeing it finished :)

    Lace, sash and whites look very nice. Re. the lace I prefer your approach of using yellows rather than gold paint. The face is particularly nice. Ths is on track to be a memorable piece.

    Thanks alot guys. As Colin says, there's no gold paint used on the lace. I used mixes of Andrea ochre and Vallejo leather brown with white added for extreme highlights. Gold and silver paint will be used for the metals though.

    Hi Fabrizio, the gold lace was painted with mixes of Andrea ochre and Vallejo leather brown with some white added for highlights.

    More painting - have finished the blue coat. I've tried to keep it dark, mixing Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue with quite a lot of black and highlighting by adding grey to the mix. The grey helps to dull the colour so that it's not too bright.
