As Gordy asked where a specified holder got be bought i answered i have one but make a cheaper one myself.
    Promise is a promise.

I bought a broomstick and sawed it in 10 parts from about 10 -12 cm ( cant remember exact measurment), size don't matters.
From a L shaped aluminium length 100 cm I sawed 20 pieces of 5 cm.
In this 20 pieces i drilled holes of 5 mm so that the holes fits excactly. In 10 pieces i drilled also two holes of 3 mm.
The only thing we now need is two srews M5, and two wingnuts that fit on this.
Fit everything together as in the pictures.
In the underside of the broomstick (piece) i drilled a hole about 5 cm deep with a 6 mm drill. With that i can put it on a holzsrew that stick out of a 12 mm piece of plywood. This has the measurement that it fits into my drybox.
To attach the parts of the figure for priming and painting i drill a piece of paperclip into the parts of the figure. They are used after the paintjob is done for fitting.
It cost my only a saturday afternoon. I find them more handy then the wooden square blocks.
Hope the pictures do the talking.

With out wanting to hijack Marc thread. Here's how I made mine. I got what is called a modesty block here in the UK, these are used in kitchen cabinet construction. Fasten one to a piece of wood and there you have it.

    Hi All
made a small addotion today. Picked up a length of white plastic angle, slightly smaller than the aluminiun angle, cut it into small lengths and stuck them on the 'ledge' between the two bolt heasds. I creates a really handy little palette for oils.
When finished just throw away and replace.
    Cheers
    Derek
