This is an old IR figure I couldn"t sell on the Flea Market table. I am giving a demo on stuff I learned at a John Long groundwork demo, so I decided to use this figure. I have replaced the head with a hornt head, and drilled the mouth open.
The groundwork so far is a piece of green floral foam glued to the base and carved to the rough shape of a trail through the woods. There is a Byardi tree trunk on the hill.

I managed a little progress on the figure over the weekend. I added his hat and started painting him up. I cut off his hands and will replace them with Nemrod hands. I am also replacing the stock weapons with ones from Michael Roberts.

If anyone has information on the 55th's uniform, please post it. My research indicates their commander, Lord Howe, after a tour with Roger's Rangers, had them cut the brim of their tricorn hats down to 2 1/2 inches, and outfitted them more like rangers. He also had them blacken the barrels of their Brown Bess rifles. Their trousers could be red or buff. Their leggings were woolen, and could be various colors, blue, green, red, tan or brown. Some wore moccasins. Google has only turned up a half dozen or so pictures of their uniform.
    Thanks,
    Pete

Thanks for the uniform information. A friend sent this picture from the Osprey Seven Years War book. Lord Howe had the men cut the coat tails short and remove the gold lace.

Added teeth, tongue and bottom lip to the gaping hole where I drilled out his mouth.
