    Hi guys,

some early pics of my latest project, the Crecy Models Richard the First, painted to depict a knight of Jerusalem, rather than the intended subject.

Painted in acrylics, steps reworked with embossed card for stonework and a central stone support added for the spiral steps. Still masses to do on this, white cross added to tunic and shield, etc, etc. The mail is not as glittery in reality, much more toned down - Im not really sure why this has happened on the pic!!

    thanks for looking in,

    Steve(y)

Still getting used to the acrylics, but Im starting to get the hang of it! All of this painting was done in one sitting - something that I would have been unable to do with my enamels!

I think the transition from Enamels to Acrylics is probably easier than Oils to Acrylics-look forward to seeing it in the flesh

Id started to err towards using glazes and washes with enamels - the only stumbling block was the wet blending of highlights and shadows, but I have experimented with using a retarder which gives me a little more time to play with the acrylics. I can see me finally binning the enamels, something I thought Id never do!!
