Well,i'm almost complete on this project now, just the final touch-ups to the haversack to complete and that will be that.
Probably the quickest bust ive ever painted to be honest, about 2 weeks on and off,a really lovely piece to paint with so much character to it.
All the painting was completed using oils over acrylics, and the piece was primed with Halfords grey body primer which I always use.
Many thanks to all the members who have posted their coments, its always much appreciated and a thank you for your support.

The bust is readily available in the UK from either :
    SK miniatures
    Historex Agents
    El Greco Miniatures

Very nice style Brian. I like the whites of the uniform in contrast to the cross belts, something that I can't quite master yet. Superb painting.

    Many thanks bob

The ochre colour of the uniform is created using titanium white with tiny amounts of gold ochre added until you get that cream, off white white old look, you can shade it with the gold ochre and some tiny amounts of burnt umber or raw umber until you get the shade that suits you.
Keep at it and don't give up,there are so many shades and colours when using oils,it's a great medium for painting figures

Beautiful work Brian; as somebody who over the last few months moved from acrylics to exclusively oils, I couldn't agree more to fact that it's fantastic medium for painting figures (y)
