Got this 2nd project underway working alongside the Rooster Cogburn bust I posted recently.
This bust represents a soldier of the Coldstream guards at Waterloo, produced by Graham Scollick at CGS Military Figures and sculpted by Carl Reid.
I really liked the pose of this one when it was first released and would fit in well with my plan to show him in the moment of action.
Many artists have captured some great scenes represent the French 2nd corp attack on Hougmount at the start of the battle, one of my favourites I have added below and which inspired me,it shows the chaos unfolding at the south gate where heavy fighting took place, the guards firing from the walls and upper floor of the chateau
I do plan to add the shoulder wings to the bust as only the light companies of the guard were situated inside hougomount as you can see from the paintings

The wall and window section were Scratchbuilt using embossed brick sheet, balsa wood sections and balsa profile.

That's a truly superb presentation of a bust. You can't even tell it is one.
I'll be following this with interest.

You've done it again Brian, excellent presentation and I see you have left the bayonet off, it is fragile. I kept knocking mine with the brush.
That is going to take a lot of room in the cabinet.
All the best with this one.

Hey Brian: Wow, as so many have said above, an excellent
presentation. And quite original. Not surprising considering
the type of quality subjects you have brought to PF, in Past. I'll follow
this with much interest. BTW, (ooooooops, that means By The
Way) have you read Bernard Cornwell's book that just came
out earlier this year? I read it and would highly recommend it.
The Title, why . . . . (drum roll please!) Waterloo, of course.

Hi Brian as many have said this should be the most novel presentation of a bust since Howard Hughes decided to help improve them for the ladies.

Good luck with choosing the bedroom wallpaper !

Looks brilliant, Brian! You've used the pose of this bust perfectly - well suited for taking cover and peering out of the window.
