This is my SBS/WIP of MMM 120mm heavy cavalry duel.

I will post details of the work that I have done along with photos as and when I can. My apologies for lack of knowledge on the naming of the various parts as i have non.

I expect it will take a good year to finish but I hope PF members will have a look and leave their thoughts.

I bought this as a 'second hand ' assembled
it did and does require some work to both riders and horses.

First up is the life gaurd and his mount
Some rework on tbe horse where one side was lower than the other and the neck where it joined the body.

I decided to cut the moulded straps and have a go at my own, milliput was used for the strap and buckle ( i may carve it off again and use the method as used on the trooper outlined below) and also to get a rough shape for the tail, as for the tail again after reading and seeing a painting I had a go at a cropped tail for the British mount.

For the trooper I carved the resin belt back and made mine using foil and some wire. All the buckles where made with the same material after i decided the miliput was a bit fragile. The scabbard and the sabretache straps were fixed using rings made from wire.

Similarly the canteen strap and carbine sling were also made from foil and a little wire to hang it from.

This will be an epic SBS with lots of work to cover, stick at it as I am sure there will be many out there who will follow this with great interest, including myself who has never actually managed to complete a mounted figure in any scale, shame on me.

Great start Malc….This is one you're going to have to really take your time on. Look, study and look again. Try to impress yourself and not those on PF....Do the best you can for yourself...…...I think I said something like that before...……………..

One half ready for paint, the hores was a bit of a task, note I have not done the reins and bits yet as they would get in the way.

Looking good. I'm following this. It's threads like these that have given me the inspiration to start re-working models myself, and there is a great satisfaction in seeing your own work. Looking forward to more, and to see you paint these.
