Just completed another planned project for this year, this piece depicts a French revolutionary artilleryman, the bust is produced by Stuart hale at Stormtroopers and is sculpted by Car Reid, scale is about 1/10th and resin.
The bust has been painted in acrylics and finished in oils with some metalics used for the buttons.
I always like to add something extra to my subjects, and for this one ive chosen a cannon ram rod which I scratchbuilt.
the only thing ive added to the bust itself is I sculpted additional hair coming from beneath the headscarf and added some tears to the bicorne which was always common with bicornes of the period.

    Hi Brian

Definately instantly recognised as your artwork ...very strong painting , like the additions ..the Ramos is a very nice touch ...simple and not detracting from the piece

Like the way you've painted the scar and the bicorne weathering

    Thanks for sharing

That's exceptional! The addition of the rammer is brilliant. I plan to paint my copy as an artilleryman as well.

Everyone and his dog seems to have been having a go at this one mate, but this is one of the very best versions I've seen. And the modifications you have made have taken it to another level. (y)
