In addition to DARQUIER, I started working on another Napoleonic subject, such as François SCHUTZ, chef de bataillon of the 3rd regiment of the Vistula Legion. The body is that of the Officier of the Dutch Grenadier, the head of the Chasseur of the 26th reg. (CHK), while the arms are those of the Officer of Grenadiers (OFGRE), all "Metal Modeles" obviously. The dog, which actually existed and seems to have accompanied SCHUTZ throughout all the campaigns from 1805 to 1815, is a "Historex" piece. With A+B I just restored the waistcoat by removing the belt (it must be clean).

    Some historical notes:

François SCHUTZ born in Warsaw on 15 March 1775 by a Prussian family. He enlisted at sixteen in the 1st Polish Demi-brigade in Italy, as quartermaster, on December 22, 1801. François SCHUTZ will be involved in all the campaigns in Italy since 1806. In particular, he distinguished himself in Castelfranco and in the conquest of the Kingdom of Naples. In 1807, he was wounded during the fighting Salzbrunn. From 1808 to 1812 he is employed in the Peninsular campaign. Wounded during the first siege of Zaragoza (12 July 1808), he participated in the second siege of the spanish city and to all war events which will see engaged the 3rd Regiment in the provinces of Navarra and Aragon. Schutz distinguished himself during the siege of Lerida, where he leads a company of his battalion and another of 114 ° line, forcing the enemy to surrender. SCHUTZ takes part , finally, in the battles of Sagunto and Valencia. In 1812 he participates in the harsh Russian campaign.
Adjudant-sous-officier on January 21, 1802, he was appointed Lieutenant in the 1st Regiment of Polish infantry in Italy on March 20, 1803 and subsequently Tenant in February of 1804. It reaches the rank of Captain three years later, after he was appointed Chef de bataillon by decree of August 1, 1808 that will allow him to take command of the 1st Battalion of the 3rd Regiment of the Vistula Legion infantry.
He was then appointed Légionnaire on November 15, 1808, Chevalier de la Couronne de Fer in August 1810, Chevalier de l'ordre militaire de Pologne in the same year and finally Chevalier de l'Empire in 1812.
    F. SCHUTZ was taken prisoner in Konigsberg, on January 5, 1813. He returned from captivity on September 12, 1814, Schutz will be employed at the Soissons deposit.
Chef de bataillon in the wake of the Polish Battalion organized in Reims, March 29, 1815, then Chef de bataillon in the Polish Regiment (3e étranger), established at Soissons April 23 of that year, SCHUTZ is finally promoted Colonel to the 3rd foreign Regiment, by decree of 12 May 1815, where he will finish his career at the service of France.

The addition of the dog really sets him apart and makes it more interesting... look forwards to seeing this develop.

Jaybo, I think exactly like you. The beauty of this hobby, in my opinion, is also historical and uniformological research, the ability to give a name and a story to the figurines I realize ..
