    Hey Guys!

I have acctually done some stuff lately, just not too much as I have been messing with my horse a lot since the weather got nice. Shes semi crazy so I need to get the kinks out of her :)

    Anyway,

Ive done the base, which my nice horse sponsored me with some hair to use for grass, I think the grass might be a little to thick in diameter, but maybe its ok, its gonna have to do.

The figure is started, and I am not very pleased at all with it. Seams like I have never painted a figure in my life! Grrrr, its very frustrating, but I'll get over it Im sure. I am sure the uniform needs a lot of stuff done to it, so what you think I need to change? I think maybe some extreme highlights and some more blending? It does look a little better in person, but not much. Anyway, enough talk, here are some pics!

Anders , it's looking good. There are a few thing that can make it better though. i think that all your highlights are of the same intensity all round. That is not correct.Try painting by numbers ( that's the way i call it anyway!!)Your base colour is no.3 while the first H/L and first shadow are no2 and no4 respectively.Highest H/L is No 1 and deepest shadow no5.look at your figure placed under an overhead light and assign numbers to all of your figure. It will help you establish where to deepen the shadow and add more highlights.Try it and tell me what you think

    Hey Stephen!

Thanks for your comment! I am not really sure what you mean, as the highlights all have 'build' up of lighter shades to them. Maybe you mean that the highest highlights are the same all around the body?

I acctually havent added any shadows to it, I just painted the highlights over a base coat, the same color as the pants are. Hmm maybe thats whats wrong.

I would love if you explained little more your thoughts so I can try it out!

They are looking great Anders. I think Stephen notices the lack of deep shadows and therefore makes the highlights stand out more.

    Hey Anders,
Your vignette is looking great,I also like the way you did the ground work .(y)

By the way Stephen's technique for highlights and shadows really works,
I use the same technique and it works well . ;)

    Keep up the good work

    Roc. :)
