Jason, that is awesome brushwork on very subtle and equally awesome sculpt by Anders! This will be at the top of the list to see in Chicago! Congrats to both of you.

Very nice figure; but, what is the source of the print accompanying your pictures of it?

Thanks Daniel. It's dark prussian blue and black. Highlight with basic skintone, and I think I used a little Old Rose.

I dont know the source of the illustration, it was sent to me by Anders. Judging from one of the previous posts, it may be from an old Military Modelling magazine.

Jason it is indeed from an old 1980's MM and I am 99% that the artist was Christopher Rothero. Part of a series as i recall so perhaps there are lots of other potential subjects in the archives :)

Right! The first thing I thought when I saw the plate was: all 3 of those would make excellent figures!

Good to know the source of the image. I found it online while searching for figure ideas. If anyone know where there other plates in the series can be found please let me know.

Anders - It may not be a formal series but Rothero did a lot of plates for MM of Victotian cavalry and yeomanry. I particularly recall a lancer officer in red mameluke trousers with a massive bunch of red and white feathers up top. I see the illustration you used is dated '76. I wil have a look when home in a few days.
