    Hi All
This is my finished version of JMD's bust "Aayane". The photos are a bit overexposed, I just can't get to grips with my Digital Camera.

Very fun piece Peter. I too like the base, but wonder if it doesn't overwhelm the figure just a tad. It is very unique and stands on its own as a piece of art. Great colors!

    Thanks

Hi Gellso. Thanks for your comments very encouraging.

Hi Roger. It's great to be able to do a base with no mud, you know what I mean:)

Hi Jay. I intended to make the base sort of "Steampunk" So that's why turned out a bit over the top. thanks for your comments very helpful.

I have to agree with Jay, I think the base detracts, from what is a very well painted bust.
You could stand it anywhere and it would look good.

Agree with Jay here. I would raise her a bit off the top of the base.(y)

Very nice Pete, great work on both the base and the bust!

Is there a gap between the torso/collar and the neck on the figures right side? It is most noticable in the last picture but cant be certain.

    Hi Anders
Yes you are right, I pegged the head ready for gluing and then I forgot to glue it. I am getting my glue out right now to get it done. Well spotted.

I think you should get credits for the creativity of the base. Making the base "funky" is gonna be one of the ways fwd. I have this crazy ambitious laughable plan that one day, when I am retired and fat, I would do justice to all the Young Miniature busts I ever bought and then give them bases that blend the busts into a certain environment via various mediums from flat paintings to 3D background (think ground work, but vertical).

    You heard it here first.

    Great painting by the way!

Hi Ken, Thanks for your comments I find them very encouraging.

Hi Ngai, Thanks for your comments. You sound like a very creative person bursting with ideas that will one day will be fulfilled.

PS. I know at your age you don't think it will, but old and fat come sooner then you think :)
