Not exactly the right clothing but a conversion from a Scots Guard/Moz Cory sculpt

    Questions:
What colour was the gun stock and the hand grip for the barrel?

Would there have been snow on the ground or just wet and soft?

And why do the pics get rotated 90 degrees.....drives me mad and the main reason I don't post these days!! ( Happens on other sites as well...but no FB )Why no simple drag and drop?

I would go with black and black for the L1A1. What I have read of the battle talks of driving rain and cold, but not snow, so...

Black plastics on butt and stock, this was a change from wood in the early 70's. As an aside Regimental armourers made a killing selling lamps made from the wooden rifle butts.

    Questions:
What colour was the gun stock and the hand grip for the barrel?

Would there have been snow on the ground or just wet and soft?

SLR - Having served in that war, SLR's had a very hard plastic stock and handgrip but there were one or two older rifles still sporting wood furniture to be seen; but these were not common at all. If you wanted to do wood furniture, then it tended to be a Mid Oak orange-yellow type of coloured wood and not dark red-brown like, say, Mahogany.

The black plastic was a sort of 'faded' black so for scale, use as dark a grey as you can as pure 'black' just won't look right.

SNOW - I never saw a drop all the time I was there between May -Aug 82 (nor a penguin either despite the place supposedly being over run with them!) and the only place I saw snow was when we stopped near South Georgia en-route which was a (much) colder climate. The Falklands was a predominantly windswept climate; not bitterly cold but everything felt wet or damp all the time. Terrain was either rocky and craggy or soft underfoot with a lot of peat-bog type ground.

Fabulous work on the DPM and 58 pattern webbing BTW which looks spot on.

    Gary

p.s. Just one minor comment, all the cap badges I saw (all corps and regiments) when berets were worn were blacked out and not left in bare metal though whether some weren't painted out, who knows...?

    Forgot to say, beautifully done.
I would recommend that anyone doing any figure carrying a SLR/L1A1/FAL look at Steve Readies replacement weapons, they are sublime.

Looking good, any pictures of the back//equipment? As Nap says, I too would dirty up/camo cream the face (and his knees and elbows), contemporary photos shows most Tom's as decidely in need of a bath...:D.
The pose really gives the impression that he's charging an Argy trench, is it possible to fix his bayonet?

The Royal Navy was using wooden stock SLRs at the time, but that was standard for the RN - obsolete army kit was usually passed on when no longer standard army issue.

Looking superb, flesh looks brill. I have not served like many on PF have ( and my deepest respects to you all ), but on a logical note, i would think all the cap badges would be blacked out, as a shiny bit of metal would make for a great target spot :arghh: , same reasoning as to why the Americans blacked out the stars on the sides of the Sherman turrets :grumpy:

There are two ways an image can be rotated:

    1) by moving the actual pixels in the image
    2) by adding a small piece of data to the file noting which orientation the image should be in (EXIF data)

PlanetFigure doesn't currently support #2. The forum software doesn't read the EXIF tag and shows the image as it is.

If the image is properly rotated on the member PC using method #2 it will still show sideways on PF.
In order for this to work an image needs to be rotated on a PC using a software that moves pixels in the image (method #1) and then uploaded.
