Here's a couple early in progress pics of my next project - Pegaso's Officer of 1st Foot Guard Grenadiers. It's a classic in my opinion (by the great M. Bruno), and I finally got around to buying it at the Chicago show. The face is only undercoated, and all the grey bits are bare primer. Thanks for looking and more to come . . .

Rusty - yes, acrylics for the uniform, and I plan to use acrylics for the face on this one (it'll be my first full face in acrylics).
Steve - nice seeing you as well and I enjoyed talking with you. Probably wont make MFCA, but there's always Chicago 2010!
Marc - Thanks! I used to always start with the face, but lately I like to paint everything around the face first. I used to paint the face, I'd be happy with it, and then I'd paint everything around the face and suddenly it seemed like there wasn't enough contrast in the face. Painting everything around the face first lets me better judge the tones and contrasts of the face.
Joe - my gold lace is desert yellow, red leather and german camo black brown, highlighted with golden yellow.
David - my red is the same as Cartacci - carmine red + green, highlighted with scarlet

Hey everyone, Mike Coffman asked in a PM about the blue stuff on the figure's feet. I thought I'd answer him here in case others were wondering the same. Basically, Mike asked what it was and if it was the only thing securing him to the base. Mike, it's a tacky putty sold at craft stores designed mainly to tack posters to the wall. No, its not the only thing securing him to the base. He actually has pins protruding from his heels into holes I've drilled in the temporary base. The blue stuff is just to keep him from moving around too much during painting.
