Very interesting rendering it looks like "3D airbrush art". Splendid! I love it.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I just want to be able to do the same. I can't even get close at the moment

I had a course maybe 12 years ago for airbrushing. But I never, I say never get the level of your skills with a airbrush.
You are handling it like a pro.
    Outstanding work.

Well this is a little personal ok?. Some people could have a different oppinion from mine.

For my taste Xnac colours are best colours for normal brush, I like them a lot, even more than vallejo or citadel, but I do not like them for airbrush.
Even if they were created thinking in a mix use (airbrush/ normal brush), they doesn't work fine in the airbrush. They are too fat for me, even if you mix them with thinner or water the pigment is very big for airbrush. They could work if you use only Xnac, but they do not mix with vallejo or citadel, that almost alwais finish in an airbrush stok. As I paint a lot with airbrush in fact I use not so much those colours.

For my taste best airbrush colour are citadel (old range), they work fine with acohol, tamiya or even mrcolor (not as good as with tamiya i have to say). Vallejo model air works really great with airbrush but they have a satin finish I do not like at all. Vallejo model color works great with pure water + mrcolor, and with my thinner works fine even mixing citadel + model color.
vallejo game color are crap, do not use them for anything.

Citadel new range works almost as old range, but layers aree much more trsnparent so at the same % of thinner they will cover less, so it's a litle harder to use. Bases works as foundation range, so fine for me.

I never tried lifecolor so i can not tell you about tem.

hope this could be usefull for someone.

Let me share the last steps. I'm ill with fever those days so please allow me to skip some intermediate pictures.

In this picture i painted the leather on the glasses and belts. Darker than the hat, but painted in the same way, just using only normal brush with a little more care that in the hat.

    028.jpg

The inner hat painted here. Same way as in the jacket but with greys and dark browns. Making it dark helps me to enclose and focus the face.

    029.jpg

    metallic details done.

    030.jpg

I'll satrt the pedestal. I'll paint it as one of his planes, so i started with a yellow base

    031.jpg

Then i used airbrush to paint lights and shadows. A little texture added.

    032.jpg

A green base painted. Smooth lights and shadows. and a small inline

    033.jpg

another different green for the plane's tail, a red line and some inlines.

    034.jpg

    some concepts for the insignias

    035.jpg

    and pedestal finished.

That is so awesome. I just cannot believe that so much of this was done with an airbrush. Thank you for sharing. I hope you get your health back soon and dare I ask that one day you will do an airbrush tutorial for us novices.

    Lovely painting Javier.

You've made a great sculpt look even better. I know I'm biased but I've had the sculpt from Igor a while and had the idea for the bust for even longer and this has finally brought it not only to life but given the original black and white photo , colour,,,,, Superb
