    Hi There,

I just started this diorama of Canadian Strathcona's Horse Late WWI. I was going to first do it in 120mm but settled on 1/35th. So far its a kit bash of DML, ICM, Hornet Heads, putty etc. I haven't settled yet on the final look but basically its a group on patrol with two officers in front and 4 troopers in the back. The figure in the back right side will be a senior Sgt and the one on the left the bugler. I've started some interaction of the middle two figures but havent fully worked that out yet. Also I'm not sure if I will leave the formation like it is or have them lined up two abreast. Any comments welcome.

    Hi Ray
This has got the makings of a great diorama and very unusual iFirst World War mounted and to this scale , love the subtle movement of horses and figs ,perticulary the horse in the middle will be watching with interest ,used to do a lot of this scale ,but eyes demanded bigger scale however I feel I might have a go after looking at yours .

    Thanks Keith, Chris

Lots to do and figure out. For example the swords at the side of the horses, how to make a 1/35th scale bugle etc. I'm heading to MFCA in May and was hoping to have it done but bit off too much, maybe for Chicago in the fall. I'm enjoying the build so far though.

    Cheers

    Chris,

That may work, I could carefully cut the hand away, then replace it with the braided handle. Tedious but possible.

    Cheers

The stirrups will work for sure the sword could be paired down and a guard added

That would work, I've been looking at my Historix Pile as well thinking the same thing I could pair down the swords there

    Hi Ray
I will get these in the post ASAP ,hope they help , have paired down the saber to a blade getting rid of scabbard , didn't have asmall enough file for the bugle to get it all carved off but got most of it and still 5 digits lol
Water bottle thought could be converted left straps and you could mould a couple .
    Hope this helps a little
    Cheers Chris
