    Hi Guys

You might remember Geoff "speedy" Charman painting this from Dolman Miniatures

    https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/worcester-yeomanry-cavalry-1-10th-bust.116887/

I have this planned to run alongside my Anzac Roo ( perhaps that should be hop !!! )

Before ŵe moved I asked Jimbo to do a small bit of work by taking off the Tarleton and adding a watering cap ....clever lad that he is

He also cleaned out the helmet ..I plan to display on the base

I added the single braiding on each side as per the original jkt

With Jimbo doing this for the headwear

    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

    Lookng like this worn image.jpeg

So currently the bust is a primed piece in black

    image.jpeg

    Stay tuned

    Hi Kev,
I like this one. A Q, The single line braid you are adding as per the original officers jacket, I note is missing from the reenactors jacket is this an oversight on there part or a date issue with a uniform change.

    Hi Mick

I am sticking with the original , but will add the fringes on the wings ...had a look at Regs .....and other documents .....much disparity between regs and what was actually worn .

    Thanks for looking in

I love it Nap, Jimbo did you proud, will be watching this with interest.

Just a thought on the wing fringes, would they not be one senior ranks, so would they not have a little man to do the watering of the houses for them??

    Hi Geoff

Yes your right , Jimbo did do a great job ...but don't tell him I said so.....LOL

Ref fringes , the pics are of the uniform Lt Col of the recreated Regt with the original being the same rank so as Mick said "regs and reality" very often varied so reckon the fringes will look good .

I have a series of booklets covering the Yeomanry which it mentions white fringes for other ranks ...no uniform actually survived with them so I think also based on that the Colonel is a very good option ( see pic )

There is also a really interesting booklet hitch is full of yeomanry info ( 2nd pic )

    Looking forward to starting this

    Thanks for looking in

Woooow! Next amazing project and great references here. Fantastic, keep it up Nap :). One small question ... What is right on the helmet? Tiny feather like it seems to be on the model, or fur like in the photographs of reenactment? Thanks for reply ...

    Cheers Borek ;)

    Hi Guys

Thanks for commenting always nice to have a response .

    Hi Borek

Fear not I will keep it up !!!

Ref the headwear , this will be on base ,going to add a makers label inside as well

On the right as you look from the front there is a plume of feathers that was in Whitemetal on the model and fitted ,around the lower edge there is a " turban" which I will do as leopard skin , across the top is the fur ....hope this explains it okay ...when painted it will show .

    Thanks for looking in

I think I see what you mean Borek: the kit's Tarleton crest looks almost like feathers (albeit small ones) whereas the originals had bearskin for officers and sheepskin for other ranks. I think the issue is that the fur sometimes clumps together as per the one in the NAM as below whereas the reenactors' have a fresh 'blow-dry' effect (almost impossible to model realistically). Their site is interesting in its own right and has lots of refs (inc for Nap's 'Muffin Cap').

    Hi guys

Been working on this basecoating it , also put the fringes on the wings , still to basecoat these and the lacework

Used twisted wire for the fringes and magi sculpt for the ends ...it will show up a lot better painted...hoping !

I used AP Dragon red for the cap and a mix of the 2 Andrea colours for the jacket

I will have a cvariation between the jacket and the cap colour

Using MC Brown Sand for the flesh ( hand still to be done...forgot !

I have also basecoated the red on the plume on the helmet using Dragon Red but no picture !

Going to do the crossbelt in black I think

    Here's the paints
