    Hi Guys ,
Thought I would share this beautiful woman with you all , it is of course the bust by UP miniaturen of the Kaisers daughter Princess Victoria - Luise in the uniform of the 2nd Leib Hussaren Regt .

Painted in Acrylics , face is finished (hopefully) think I succeded in getting that delicate look , I plan to do NMM on the lacework and other "silvered " details (made a start on the plaited cap lines on the busby ) ..in the flesh the fleshwork is lighter ..honest!!!

In the info sheet that comes with it it has a date of 1911 and I have an excellent book as a reference which states that pre 1912 the busby "could" have been black - brown otters fur ...tempted to do this version to add a bit of variety to contrast the black uniform colour .

My main reference for the uniform details (all aspects of the hussar uniform worn at this time is Hussar and Mounted Rifles (Uniforms of the Imperial German Cavalry 1900-1914) by D H Hagger (published 1974 ISBN O 85524 171 3 ...now sadly OOP but I have seen it on e bay !!)

I added some additional detailing in the ears and a cockade under the right hand boss of the chin scales ..both still to be painted I hasten to add !!!!!!!

Thanks to Ulrich and Roger for the inspiration that made me start mine (also on the bench is the Kaisers son "Little Willie")...I am having lots of fun with this one :D

    WIP -Update on Viktoria Luise

    Hi to all ,
Thought I woulfd post a couple of WIP updates on Viktoria , still to do :

The chinscales , bit more highlighting on the busby , the retaining strap on the chinscales (reworked to include a tiny buckle behind at the top), I have also added a buckle and extra piece of pouch belt (Bandelier) the lacework is just base coated with it all to do without metallics as IMHO using these (although Roger has done a nice job) doesn't look right , then of course its the base to sort out ...then on to Euro ...perhaps ..time permitting /work keeps getting in the way .....

Its a great bust and I am really enjoying this just wish Euro was another week away !!!!![IMG]

    Roger ,
Thanks for the pictures , I have had Ulrich from UP minituren send me all his reference material as well so no shortage there ...just time !!!!

    Viktoria - Luise

Hi to one and all ,
Thanks for the comment appreciated , its been a great learning curve working with all the black , seeing it in the flesh it looks good I must admit , not overshadowed .

    Mitsutaka ,
Glad you like the skin tones , again enjoyed the process (and avoided giving her a 5 o'clock shadow from shaving !!!!!) , likewise in the flesh the highlights look female if you understand my idea ..delicate ...I will be doing another female soon (A WW2 Nurse:D) .

She is now all based up and in my carrying box and heading towards Euro in an hour or so (just want her to be around all that quality ..some might rub off!!) ...

I will post some completed pictures when I get back and stop being so excited !!!.
