I just finished the trumpeter's face and the hat, still needs extreme sadows and highlights.
The boots are undercoated in acrylics waiting for the oils to be applied.

Great work Rocco,

You did a tremendous job on the silver. I painted this colour once, and it is not as easy as i thought it would be.
But man, you did it great.
When looking the figure all over i must say, you are doing a wonderfull job.

hi rocco. great job as always.can i ask you to go over a point that i know you have mentioned in the past. you call it glazing i think. can this be done when the figure is dry?. could it be done on a figure that has been painted for a good while ?. if you could go over the steps on how it's done for me. i'm sure it will be a great help to not only my self but to other new oil paint modlers. with thanks dave.

Hi Dave, thanks, I'm glad you like it so far.

I usually use this technique to enhance the highlights and the shadows.
I add a little Windsor Newton Liquin to my high highlight colors and to my dark shadows, it should be a translucent mixture.
The figure must be completely dry before glazing, you can apply as many glazes as you wish in between dryings untill you achieve the desired results,
when using this technique blending is not necessary.

In answer to your second question, yes this technique can be used on a figure that has been painted for a while, it will enhance the appearance of the figure.

Hey Marc, I usually put the figure in the oven to dry in between glazings, that speeds up the drying and eliminates the sheen.
