We had a foot of snow so lots of time to model and paint. This is my progress on the diorama.The 4 figures are conversions. I added several extra parts to the base. Still have to add some work to the base. Have a base coat and primer on the cross. The younger figure will hold a stick and sponge. Thinking of adding one more Roman, but the base is looking full.?? This is 54mm with all acrylic paint. Started a new thread hope that's ok. Any suggestion are very welcome.

Excellent so far. Thats a tough call, adding another figure. It might look crowded but at the same time I think I would go with it. Maybe the additional Roman could be kneeling, a sort of sybolism for the fate of the Roman empire.

Mike, it's looking good. Can't help noticing your progress with every piece.

Really nicely done. To my way of thinking you have enough figures for being so close to the cross. If their were additional persons present, they would be further away from the cross and therefore "off" of the base. Also, you may want to consider making the upright timber of the cross look older that the crosspiece. From my understanding, historians now believe that the upright was permeant and just the crosspiece was new for each crucifixion. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responce, May not use another figure,I will try to convert the one I have it mind and see how it looks. Nice tip on painting the cross,thanks. Could be finished in about 10 days.
